ABOUT AILEEN STANLEY
American pop singer who was one of the most popular singers of the 1920s. She sang and danced in Vaudeville theatre and cabarets before she began her solo singing career.
She started her career performing in an act with her brother Stanely called Stanley and Aileen.
Her most successful records include "Sweet Indiana Home," "My Mammy," and "Back Where The Daffodils Grow."
After her brother left their singing duo, her mother encouraged her to pursue a solo career. She died in 1982 in Los Angeles at the age of 89.
She helped launch the career of notable singer Gene Austin .
