ABOUT ALFRED BURKE
English actor best remembered for his decade-long role private detective Frank Marker on the series Public Eye. He also appeared as Major Dieter Richter in Enemy at the Door from 1978 to 1980 and acted in films like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
He worked at a railway repair firm in London at age fourteen before earning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1937.
He worked as a manual laborer after registering as a conscientious objector to World War II.
He had two sets of twins with his wife Barbara Bonelle.
He performed in the play Desire Caught by the Tail, written by famed painter Pablo Picasso .
