ABOUT ALICIA BANIT
Prior to playing her well known role of Kat Karamakov on ABC Australia's Dance Academy , she had a recurring role on the hit Australian soap opera Neighbours.
She landed her breakthrough role as Kaitlyn on the short-lived comedy series Summer Heights High in 2007. Her first television appearance came at the age of five, on a show called Halifax f.p.
She is skilled in ballet, hip hop, tap, modern, and jazz dance. She started dancing at age 4, and at age 12 got a scholarship into The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School in Australia.
She is from St. Helena in Victoria. She grew up with a brother named Matt.
When she was only 8 years old, she starred opposite Miranda Otto in the film Dead Letter Office.
