ABOUT ALVIN MARTIN
Former defender best known for being a 20-year fixture on West Ham United F.C. He was a member of the English national team from 1981 to 1986.
He began his career playing in the West Ham United youth system in 1974.
He had a two-year stint with Southend United from 1997 to 1999.
His two sons, David and Joe, both became professional soccer players as well.
He followed in the footsteps of Bobby Charlton to represent England in the FIFA World Cup.
