She studied merchandise marketing at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She also worked as an accounting specialist at Torrey Pines Bank.
Between working on her blog, she worked in sales at GTC Systems until 2015.
Her husband, Chris Dyer, serves as her photographer. He is also a krav maga practitioner and a partner at Benchmark Makers, an IT consulting firm.
