Liberian diplomat and jurist who became the first African female President of the United Nations General Assembly in 1970.
She became Liberia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in 1954.
She became the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court of Liberia in 1977.
She married Richard A. Henries and they had two sons together.
She and Sharon Pratt Kelly were both members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
