ABOUT ANN-MARIE MACDONALD
Playwright and actress whose first novel, Fall on Your Knees, won her the Commonwealth Writers Prize and was picked for Oprah Winfrey's Book Club in 2002.
She was born when her father was in Canada's military at an air force base in West Germany but she later moved to Toronto.
She was nominated for the highly honored Canada Giller prize in 2003 for her second novel, The Way the Crow Flies.
She had a partnership personally and professionally with fellow playwright and theater director, Alisa Palmer.
She starred alongside Wendy Crewson in the 1999 Canadian romantic comedy film, Better Than Chocolate.
