ABOUT APRIL LERMAN

American actress, entertainer, performer, artist, vocalist, musician, singer, and counselor who first gained fame for her role of Kate, an orphan in the 1982 film of the musical Annie . She was also known for her role as Lila Pembroke in the first season of Charles in Charge.

At age seven, she became a member of the First All Children's Theater of New York. She graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1995 but declined to pursue a career in the legal field.

She eventually received her master's degree from University of Santa Monica in Counseling Psychology. She has worked in a community counseling group in Thousand Oaks, California. She also appeared in an episode of Growing Pains .

She is the daughter of Phyllis Lerman. She was married to William Pearson Haney III until the year 2015. They had one son named Sean Haney together.

She starred alongside Scott Baio and Nicole Eggert in the television series Charles in Charge.
