As a child, she would play the guitar and sing for strangers. She performed in choirs, acted in plays, and took part in cheer practice.
She graduated from University of Georgia with a degree from the Terry College of Business in Marketing and Music Business. She worked with several well-known music companies such as CMT, The Georgia Theatre, Six String Southern, and The Foundry.
She has a twin. She would sing and play guitar with her grandfather.
