She gained fame for her roles in the films, Crash and Saw III.
She moved to Los Angeles in 1979 and attended Beverly Hills High School, where she played violin in the school orchestra.
She took acting classes while working at a sales job before making acting her full time career.
She married business manager Clayton French in 2001 and the couple has three children, the eldest of whom is runner Ezra Frech .
She starred in the 2006 horror film Saw III with fellow actress Shawnee Smith .
