Barly Baruti
ABOUT BARLY BARUTI
Baruti Kandolo Lilela, a Congolese writer and comic book artist known by the pseudonym of Barly Baruti, published numerous environmentally-themed comics. His best-known works include Le Temps d'agir (Time to Act) and Objectif Terre! (Objective: Earth!).
He worked at the French Cultural Centre's graphics studio in Kisangani. It was here that he produced his first comic book, Le Temps d'agir.
He co-founded an art workshop called Atelier de Création et de l'Initiation à l'Art.
His family hailed from Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
He and fellow author Clementine Nzuji were both born in Africa.
