ABOUT BECKY HARRIS
Former Nevada State Senator and first woman to hold the Chair position of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. She was in office from January of 2018 until January of 2019. She is recognized as an expert on gaming policy and regulations, legislative affairs, and workplace sexual harassment prevention.
She studied at Brigham Young University , graduating in 1989 before going on to earn a law degree from the same university.
She first entered politics as a Democrat and was unsuccessful in her campaigns. In 2014, she ran for the state Senate as a Republican and served until 2018.
She was born and raised in Provo, Utah, and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband R. Garth Harris have two children, Sydney and Mallory.
She and Senator Mitt Romney are both notable alumni of Brigham Young University.
