Digital artist who set the NFT art world on fire in March of 2021 when he sold a piece of digital art for $69 million. The art piece, titled The First 5000 Days, was auctioned off by Christie's, making it the first NFT art work sold by a major traditional art auction house.
He learned computer science in college, graduating from Purdue University in 2003. After college, he took a job as a web designer for a small company.
He has done concert visual work for many mainstream singers including Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj . He has featured a lot of his digital artwork on Instagram, where he has over 2.1 million followers.
His real name is Mike Winkelmann. He moved form Wisconsin to South Carolina in 2017.
He has said that Aphex Twin had a major influence on him as an artist.
