He helped lead Gainesville High School to a 14-1 record, with the sole loss being the state championship game.

He won two BCS National Championships as a reserve quarterback for the Crimson Tide in 2012 and 2013.

He was born in Gainesville, Georgia.

He backed up AJ McCarron during Alabama's back-to-back national championships.
