ABOUT BRADLEY WALKER TOMLIN
Abstract expressionist painter who was associated with the New York School and a participant in the Ninth Street Show.
He attended Syracuse University and had his first solo exhibition in 1926. He was mentored by the famed Frank London.
He painted "Number 9: In Praise of Gertrude Stein " (1950) using a calligraphic aesthetic.
He grew up in New York and taught at Sarah Lawrence College.
He was a contemporary of Robert Motherwell .
