ABOUT CALDER WILLINGHAM

An American novelist and screenwriter, he is best known for his 1963 novel, Eternal Fire. As a screenwriter, he is remembered for his work on the classic 1967 film, The Graduate.

In his early adulthood, he worked for the Office of War Information in Washington, D.C.

The New Yorker called him a father of modern black comedy.

He was born in Georgia, and he died in New Hampshire. He was married to Jane Bennett.

He collaborated with Stanley Kubrick on many film projects.
