ABOUT CALEB NATHANIEL GINYARD JR.
American singer known for his work in the gospel and doo-wop genres. He rose to fame as a member of the Jubalaires. After the Jubalaires disbanded, he went on to form the Du Droppers, whose 1953 hit "I Wanna Know" reached number three on the Billboard R&B charts.
He sang in his church before launching his singing career.
He performed for US troops as a member of the Golden Gate Quartet. He settled in Basel, Switzerland after leaving the group.
His father was a slave in South Carolina. He had five children with his wife Janie Elnora. He also had two children with a second wife in Switzerland.
He and his bandmates in the Jubalaires performed on Arthur Godfrey 's radio show.
