ABOUT CARL ZIMMER
Science writer, blogger, and journalist who is known for his published pieces in The New York Times, Discover, and National Geographic. He writes about evolution and genetics and is a fellow at Yale University .
He earned his BA from Yale University . He started his career writing for Discover Magazine and later gained attention in 2013 when he started writing his column Matter in The New York Times.
He was awarded the Online News Association's Online Journalism Award in the explanatory reporting category in 2017.
He has two daughters named Charlotte and Veronica.
He was awarded the Stephen Jay Gould Prize in 2016 from the Society for the Study of Evolution.
