She began singing by participating in her youth chapel choir as a child. She studied the performing arts at the University of North Texas .
She has acted in the West End in The Secret Garden and Personals. She is a vocalist and performed her first solo concert at Feinstein's 54 Below. She recorded a live album entitled If You Knew My Story.
She married Paul Telfer.
