ABOUT CAT BAUER
Most well known for her Harley Columba series of young adult novels, this award-winning author also published several short story collections.
After working for many years as a theater actress, she began her writing career with the 1993 publication of a short story titled "Run Away." Her first novel, Harley, Like a Person, was published in 2000.
In the late 1990s, she began living and working in Venice, Italy.
Born on a South Carolina military base, she spent the majority of her childhood in New Jersey. During her brief, early marriage, she lived in New York City; she later relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she married (and later divorced) TV director James Quinn.
An admirer of Beatle John Lennon , Bauer frequently mentions the singer in her literary works.
