ABOUT CHANDRA SHEKHAR AZAD
Indian revolutionary who is best known for organizing the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association.
He joined the Hindustan Republican Association in 1922, and later reorganized it when the leadership was killed.
In 1931, following his death, a park in India formerly called Alfred Park was renamed Chandrashekar Azad Park.
His mother, Jagrani Devi, was hopeful that he would become a scholar of Sanskrit and persuaded his father to send him away to school.
He joined the non-cooperation of Mahatma Gandhi when he was 15, but later progressed to the more aggressive movement.
