ABOUT CHARLES LAWSON
Most well known for his more than two-decade-long portrayal of Jim McDonald in the British soap opera Coronation Street , Lawson is also recognized for his recurring role as Bill McQueen in the BBC One soap Doctors.
Before making his television acting debut in the 1982 miniseries Harry's Game, he trained at London's famous Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
He co-starred with an eight-foot-tall hot dog in a humorous German frankfurter commercial that aired in 2009.
Born Quintin Charles Devonish Lawson, he spent his youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After separating from his wife Suzie, he began a long-term relationship with Debbie Stanley.
He appeared with Stephen Rea in the 1984 made-for-TV movie Four Days in July.
