ABOUT CHARLES E. RICE

A prominent law professor, scholar, and Catholic apologist, he is known for Where Did I Come From? Where Am I Going? How Do I Get There?: Straight Answers for Young Catholics (2005), Beyond Abortion: The Theory and Practice of the Secular State (1978), and other works. In 1969, he joined the law faculty at Notre Dame.

He attended Boston College Law School and New York University. Before practicing law in New York City, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

During the 1960s, he founded the Conservative Party of New York.

He was born and raised in New York City. He later settled in Indiana with his wife, Mary, and his ten children.
