American screen actress known for her starring role in the 1963 film Gidget Goes to Rome. Her television credits include guest spots on Leave it to Beaver and My Three Sons.
Early in her career, credited as Carol Sydes, she guest starred in a 1955 episode of the NBC series Medic.
Gidget Goes to Rome was the third installment in a series of films; actresses Deborah Walley and Sandra Dee had played Carol's role of Gidget in the two earlier films in the series.
Her marriage to Dr. Kent Coombs lasted from 1964 until 1968. She later married and had two children with Christopher Connelly .
She co-starred with acclaimed actor James Stewart in a 1965 comedic movie titled Dear Brigitte.
