Also known as Dude Huge, he became the director of the Epic Games company and the developer of the Unreal video game franchise.

Early in his career, he worked on such video games as Jazz Jackrabbit and The Palace of Deceit: the Dragon's Plight.

He became known by the nickname CliffyB.

He married gamer and blogger Lauren Berggren. His brother Tyler also had a career as a blogger.

He was inspired and influenced by the work of Nintendo video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto .
