ABOUT CLINT SMITH

Poet and writer known for his books Counting Descent, which was a finalist for an NAACP Image Award, as well as How The Word Is Passed, which reached The New York Times bestseller list in June of 2021. He has written regularly for The Atlantic Monthly. His clintsmithiii Instagram account showcases his work, his thoughts, his accomplishments and his family life. He has amassed 100,000 followers.

He attended David College and graduated in 2010, and went on to teach high school English. He also holds a doctorate in education from Harvard University .

He hosted two podcasts, Pod Save The People and Crash Course's Black American History series.

He is the father of two children.
