Actor who played Dave Best in the BBC comedy series The Royale Family in 1998, which he also co-wrote.
He was a radio DJ on the Manchester station KFM during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He co-wrote the series Early Doors, as well as the drama series Sunshine.
He had two sons, Harry and Billy.
His BBC drama series Sunshine starred actor Steve Coogan in the lead role.
