Father of Liam Hemsworth , Chris Hemsworth , and Luke Hemsworth .  He works as a social-service counselor. His son Chris played the role of Thor in Avengers: Endgame , which is the highest-grossing superhero film as of 2022, coming in at over 2.7 billion dollars worldwide.

He and his wife got married in 1981.

He worked on a cattle farm in the Northern Territory of Australia. He briefly ran a community center, which also functioned as a grocery store and post office. Elsa Pataky is his daughter-in-law through Chris.

He married to Leonie Hemsworth. They have three sons.

His son Liam starred in The Last Song with Miley Cyrus .
