ABOUT CRAIG JOHNSON

Though he is also known for his plays, this author is most famous for his Western-themed Sheriff Walt Longmire series of detective novels. His best known works in the series include Junkyard Dogs, The Dark Horse, Another Man's Moccasins, and Death Without Company.

He published his debut Longmire book, The Cold Dish, in 2004. The work was a finalist for the Dilys Award.

His 2011 novel, Hell is Empty, received the Library Journal Mystery Novel of the Year Award.

He was born in Huntington, West Virginia, and he later settled in Ucross, Wyoming.

The highly popular A&E television series based on Johnson's Longmire series starred Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff .
