ABOUT DAVID KUDLA

In 2012, this forward and defenceman began playing for the Australian Ice Hockey League team the Perth Thunder. Previously, he had won an Australian national team gold medal in the 2010 IIHF World U20 Championships.

He began his career with Finland's UJK second division ice hockey team.

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) board named Kudla its top defenceman of 2011.

Natives of Perth, Western Australia, he and his twin brother, Simon Kudla, both played for the Perth Thunder.

He is a contemporary of fellow Australian ice hockey player Jack Connor .
