Actor, entertainer, artist, and performer who has appeared in blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 , The Departed , Braveheart , and Cowboys & Aliens . He was also in series like Gotham , Luther , Covert Affairs , and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He played the Earl of Surrey, Henry Howard, on The Tudors .
He was accepted for a Youth Opportunities theater program in Glasgow.
At the young age of 17, he started studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. His earliest screen credit was in the 1984 film Comfort and Joy.
