ABOUT DENNIS LEE
Award-winning poet and children's author who is best known for a rhyming book entitled Alligator Pie. His other notable works include The Ice Cream Store, The Gods, and Civil Elegies.
After graduating from the University of Toronto, he became co-founder and editorial director of House of Anansi Press.
He served as Toronto's first Poet Laureate from 2001-2004.
He was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He married Susan Perly in 1985.
His scholarly work, "Savage Fields: An Essay in Literature and Cosmology," includes a critical analysis of the work of singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen .
