ABOUT DENNIS SEATON

Singer known for being the lead vocalist of the British reggae band Musical Youth, most famous for their 1982 global hit "Pass the Dutchie", which made him an international star at just 15 years old.

He joined Musical Youth in the early 1980s after replacing one of the original members. The band was originally formed by the sons of Jamaican immigrants and was made up entirely of school-aged kids.

After the band split in the mid-1980s, he stepped away from the music scene for a while and took on work outside the industry, including a job in car sales.

He was born in Birmingham, England, to Jamaican parents.

His band was popular around the same time as The Smiths and The Police .
