ABOUT DEREK MILLER
Blues singer-songwriter known for critically successful albums such as The Dirty Looks and Music is the Medicine. He earned Juno awards for the former recording, and the track "Lovesick Blues" from the latter album earned honors as well.
He started performing professionally during his teenage years and released his first studio album, Music is the Medicine, in his late twenties.
An actor as well as a musician, he appeared in the movie Moccasin Flats: Redemption and in the Canadian television drama Hard Rock Medical.
He grew up in Ontario, Canada, as a member of the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation tribe. He has a sister named Andrea Menard.
Early in his career, he toured with fellow Canadian aboriginal singer Buffy Sainte-Marie .
