Liverpool newspaper writer who became the Beatles' press man and helped George Harrison on his autobiography.
He rose to the post of theater critic for the Daily Express to a national journalism assignment, he was sent to cover the Beatles during their early days.
His praise for the group made him a part of the Beatles' inner circle and as the group rose to fame he collaborated with George Harrison on a weekly ghostwritten column.
He was married to Joan Taylor, who appeared in his stead on the documentary George Harrison : Living in the Material World.
After the Beatles disbanded, he worked as a co-author on books written by Steven Spielberg and Michelle Phillips.
