Brazilian centre-back who launched his professional career with São Paulo FC in the year 2019. He made his senior debut for the club in a 2-1 win over Centro Sportivo Alagoano.

He played youth soccer for São Paulo between 2015 and 2019.

He won the 2023 Copa do Brasil with São Paulo. He shares his soccer victories with his upwards of 600,000 followers on his diegocosta_99 Instagram account. In June of 2010, Costa returned to the Colchoneros, initially as a backup to Sergio Agüero and Diego Forlán. Atlético also paid an undisclosed sum to Braga to buy all the residual 30% economic rights.

His full name is Diego Henrique Costa Barbosa. His girlfriend Ana Melissa was featured in a several photos posted to his Instagram account on September 24, 2023.

He and Jonathan Calleri have played together as teammates for São Paulo.
