ABOUT DJ OTZI
Austrian singer who became a sensation in German-speaking countries in the late 90's with singles like "Anton Aus Tirol," which hit the top of the singles charts in Austria. In the English-speaking world, he is perhaps best known for his 2001 single "Hey Baby (Uhh, Ahh)."
He suffered from epilepsy as a child and began his entertainment career after being discovered at a karaoke contest.
His stage name was inspired by the 5,300-year old mummy known as Otzi the Iceman, discovered in the Otztal Alps.
His father is DJ Anton Friedle. He was given up for adoption by his mother, who was a teenager at the time of his birth. His birth name is Gerhard Friedle. In 2001 he married Sonja Friedle and together they had a daughter in 2002.
His hit single "Hey Baby (Uhh, Ahh)" is a cover of the Bruce Channel song "Hey! Baby."
