Entrepreneur known for being a co-founder of Vine. After leaving Vine, he created the app Byte.

He formed Vine in 2012 along with Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll. Hofmann officially stepped down from his general manager role at the beginning of 2014.

He said that the founders settled on the six-second length after months of experimentation, and then added the loop feature to complement the short length.

He has a younger brother.

Vine paved the way for internet stars such as Nash Grier .
