Acclaimed screenwriter who wrote several screenplays for Disney, including: Alice in Wonderland (1951) and Peter Pan (1953).
He started out as a layout artist before becoming a famous writer.
He was nominated for an Oscar, along with Bill Walsh, for Mary Poppins in 1964.
He died unmarried.
He co-wrote Mary Poppins, which starred Julie Andrews in the titular role.
