Athlete and actress who became known for playing tough, athletic characters, and for portraying Coach Beiste on Glee . She landed her role on Glee by approaching one of the executive producers at a supermarket if she could be on the show.
She worked as a youth counselor at Fresno County Juvenile Probation center.
She was encouraged by Shirley Eson of American Gladiators to pursue acting. She is a 15-time world arm wrestling champion. A retired athlete, she set records for shot put at the junior college level, and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1988.
She married Bridgett Casteen in 2013.
She played the role of Coach Kelly on Lizzie McGuire alongside Hilary Duff .
