ABOUT DUTCH CLARK
Hall of Fame quartberback with the Portsmouth Spartans and Detroit Lions in the NFL who also served as the Lions' head coach his last two years with the team.
He played football at Colorado College, where he was an All-American in 1928, but he did not join the NFL until two years after graduating.
Selected to the All-NFL team six of his seven years in the league, his superb play at nearly every position on the team led the Lions to the 1935 NFL title.
He was born in Fowler, Colorado.
He, along with the heavyweight boxer Jack Dempsey , were both charter member of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1965.
