ABOUT EDGELL RICKWORD

British war poet, journalist, editor, and literary critic known for his Communist Party affiliation. His poetry collections include Behind the Eyes and Invocation to Angels.

He served in the British Army during World War I. Later, he studied briefly at the University of Oxford.

He developed a severe infection in 1919 that necessitated the removal of his left eye.

He grew up in Essex, England. Later, he gave up his university study of French literature to get married.

He wrote a famous review of T.S. Eliot 's celebrated work The Waste Land.
