ABOUT EDOUARD MENDY

Goalkeeper who has played for Chelsea FC and the Senegalese national team. He became the only African goalkeeper in the English Premier League. He has played on 6 different teams throughout his senior career.

At the age of 13, he joined the youth academy of Le Havre AC. He later began his professional career at AS Cherbourg.

Before signing with Marseille in 2015, he was filing for unemployment and contemplating switching careers. He stands at 6 feet and 4 inches tall.

He was born in France, but his father is from Guinea-Bissau and his mother is Senegalese.
