He grew up in Atlanta, fascinated by the movie industry.
He distributed his film, Grizzly, completely on his own. He started his own independent movie production company called Film Ventures International (FVI) in 1968.
He was never married. He fled to Mexico in 1987 following the demise of his production company and was never seen again.
He produced 1978's The Day of the Animals, which starred actor, Leslie Nielsen .
