Professional midfielder that was signed by the LA Galaxy in August 2017. He has also made appearances as a member of the Mexican national men's team.

He began his soccer career playing for the LA Galaxy youth squad in 2016.

He made his professional club debut playing against the Chicago Fire on March 2, 2019.

He is the younger brother of Carlos Alvarez . He is of Mexican descent.

He played alongside Douglas Costa as a member of the LA Galaxy during the 2021 club season.
