As a teenager, he taught himself to play piano, drums, ukulele and violin.
He received a scholarship to attend University of Cincinnati - Conservatory of Music. He left after one semester.
His father gave him a guitar when he was nine years old.
He performed with siblings Nico Collins and Chelsea Collins .
