Ellen Anderson

ABOUT ELLEN ANDERSON

American Democratic politician who served in the Minnesota Senate from 1993 to 2011. She also served as Chair of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission from 2011 to 2012.

She attended Carleton College for her undergraduate degree and later graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.

While serving in the Senate, she was a member of the Finance, Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications, and Higher Education committees.

She married fellow Congress member Andy Dawkins in 1995.

United States senator Dean Barkley was also a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School.
