Most famous for playing Maureen Reardon Bauer on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, this Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress also had a successful career as a stage performer, appearing in productions of Equus and The Heidi Chronicles.

Early in her career, she portrayed Ethel Kennedy in a 1983 television miniseries.

She graduated from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.

She settled in New York City with her physician husband and her adopted daughter.

She performed in several pieces by playwright Wendy Wasserstein .
