She began writing for film and television early on, as she grew up with family involved in the industry.

She wrote the short story, Unstable Ground, which secured her the O Henry Award in 1989.

She was raised in Los Angeles, CA.

She worked alongside actress Josie Bisset on the long-running soap, Melrose Place.
