ABOUT ENVER COLAKOVIC
The author of the The Legend of Ali-Pasha, he also served as a cultural adviser to the Croatian Embassy in Budapest. He received the Petofi Award for his 1970 Translations of Hungarian works.
He studied physics and mathematics in Budapest and history in Zagreb.
He translated Hungarian, Austrian, and Hebrew poetry after he was arrested and detained during World War II.
He was married to Stella Colakovic, with whom he created classical music radio programs.
Both Colakovic and Aleksander Hemon are writers of Bosnian heritage.
